1. Histoanatomical aspects of the Nepenthes maxima Reinw. ex Ness metamorphosed leaf

pp. 3 - 7

IRINA TOMA, CONSTANTIN TOMA, IRINA STĂNESCU

In this paper the histo-anatomical aspects of the metamorphosed leaf of Nepenthes maxima were underlined. The pitchers are highly specialized organs for the attraction and capture of insects and absorption of nutrients from them. The basal region of the trap had large multicellular glands that developed from single epidermal cells. These glands were closely associated with underlying vascular traces and provided a mechanism for supplying fluid to closed immature pitchers. We especially examine the glandular cells and their developing stages during the ontogenesis.

2. Micropropagation of the endemic species for Romanian flora Andryala levitomentosa (E. Nyar.) Sell.

pp. 9 - 11

ANCA AIFTIMIE-UNESCU, SMARANDA VÂNTU

In this paper are presented the stages of micropropagation of the endemic species Andryala levitomentosa for the first time. This plant is considered one of the rarest and endangered species in European flora.

3. Agrobacterium mediated transformation of some Romanian cultivars of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum)

pp. 13 - 17

OLIVIA POPA, ALEXANDRINA CĂLIN, GABRIELA TENEA, NATALIA CUCU, LUCIAN GAVRILĂ

The organogenetic capacity of two Romanian tomato cultivars Lycopersicon esculentum var Vidra 533 and L. esculentum var Roxana after Agrobacterium tumefaciens (carrying npt 1I marker gene) mediated transformation was investigated. Both varieties regenerated shoots after 3-4 weeks of incubation on zeatin-contained medium. A comparative analysis of the presence of neomycin phosphotransferase (npt If) gene was performed in transformed and untransformed plants, analysis that shows a transformation efficiency of 18.7%, which is a value a little higher than the reported ones for the same transformation technique. It is not clear if this regeneration efficiency is due to the tomato genotypes used, the Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain GV31 0 I (pMP90), or to some other reasons.

4. The variation of the assimilating pigments content in Gardenia jasminoides (Ellis) H.Br. callus under action of spermidine exogenous added

pp. 19 - 26

RODICA DUMITRESCU

This study evaluated the quantity of the assimilating pigments of some types of Gardenia jasminoides calli under the action of Spd exogenous added. This was analyzed in comparison with leaves of the in vitro regenerated plants. The results have demonstrated that Spd 0.1 mM has determined a decrease in the quantity of the chlorophylls in the calli and increase of the carotenoid pigments. The diminishing of the total chlorophyll/carotenoid ratio on the primary calli confirms the apport of exogenous Spd take quantitative diminishing of the assimilating pigments as to the quantitative growth of the carotenoids.

5. The hornworts and liverworts list of Romania

pp. 27 - 39

SORIN ȘTEFĂNUȚ

In this paper we present the list of homworts and liverworts from Romania which includes our recent reports: Frullania parvistipula, Haplomitrium hookeri, Lophozia opacifolia. Marsupella commutata, Pallavicinia lyellii, and Pleurocladula albescens var. albescens. The species Anthoceros agrestis is reported as new to Romania.

6. The chorology, ecology and phytocoenology of Adonis vernalis L. in Romanian flora

pp. 41 - 56

VASILE SANDA, AUREL POPESCU, SIMONA MIHĂILESCU, DANIELA ILEANA STANCU

The paper studied the chorology, ecology and phytocoenotic integration of Adonis vernalis L. The data from literature, herbaria and field was used for this species mapping. It was established the areal of species in Romanian Flora. Also it was mentioned the species ecology and the phytocoenotic integration of studied species. The chorologic map of the Adonis vernalis L. species in Romania was made in UTM system, based on the literature data, herbaria consulting and field studies. In this map are rendered data, according to literature and personal observations, about the species coenotic integration, that species being determined as a xero-mezophyllous element, a constituent of the steppic meadows, belonging to the Festuco-Brometea class Br.-Bl. ex Tx. 1943, but also a participant of the xero-mezotherm small island-like forests vegetation in Romania's silvosteppe, these phytocoenoses belonging to Quercetea pubescenti-petraeae class (Oberd. 1948, 1957) Jakucs 1960.

7. Distribution of Nepeta parviflora Bieb. (Lamiaceae) in Romania with ecological and phytocoenological considerations

pp. 57-65

IOANA MARCELA PĂDURE

The paper presents the geographical distribution, ecological and phytocoenological aspects of the N. parviflora populations. N. parviflora is a rare species on the Romanian Red List of Vascular Plants with a restricted areal only in Dobrudja. Although the species is not immediately in danger of extinction its habitat continues to be severely altered indirectly by man, herbivores and repeatable droughts. It is very important to know these aspects to rise the species into a higher sozological thretened category for this beautiful species from Romania.

8. Caractéristiques structurelles des populations du phytoplancton dans les zones d'écotone de type lentique-terrestre dans le delta du Danube

pp. 67 - 73

RENATA MUȘA, N. NICOLESCU

Ecotone structure and functions are different towards the structure and functions of the adjacent ecosystems. From this point of view this paper emphasizes the phytoplankton's structural differences between lentic-terestrial ecotone and adjacent ecosystems from the Danube Delta in 2002.

9. The productivity of the Romanian silvosteppe forests

pp. 75-78

CLAUDIA D. BIȚĂ, ADRIANA JALBĂ

In this paper four sites are reviewed (Ciofliceanca, Comana, Magura and Ogarca Forest) from the point of view of the herbaceous stratum productivity. These studied sites are representative forests of Romanian silvosteppe forest. They are located in the south-south-east of Campia Romana.

10. Analysis of diversity indices used in the study of herbal phytocenoses

pp. 79 - 93

PĂTRUȚ D., ANGHEL C., BOLDEA M.

This paper presents the analysis of indices applied when studying the phytocenoses. The main indices that measure the diversity of a phytocenoses formed by S species and N individuals (I :s S :s N) are represented in the paper by the formulae (1)-{5). In order to reduce these indices to the same variation range (0;1) one has to calculate the relative or equitability indices by dividing them by the maximum index (corresponding to the maximum diversity). Each maximum index can be calculated either by reducing N to the S value, or by increasing S up to the N value. We consider that it is important to calculate the maximum indices by keeping Sand N constant and by achieving the uniform distribution of species individuals (relation 6). In the paper, we have calculated these absolute and relative indices both for more typical theoretical variants and for three practical situations achieving thus the present conclusions.
